St. Louis College of Nursing Sciences Zonkwa

To train compassionate, highly competent, skilled, versatile and resilient nurses and midwives.

Based on premise of Catholic philosophy and National Health policy and in the spirit of oneness, we collaborate with all stakeholders, using modern facilities while employing qualified, proficient and resourceful personnel to equip our candidates to be the best nurses and midwives ready to respond to any health care need in the society.

The Aim of the Saint Louis College of Nursing Sciences Zonkwa, is to prepare competent, skilled and versatile Midwifery practitioners who would be capable of providing high level care to individuals and expectant families in primary health care settings, Health Clinics, Communities etc., in order to reduce maternal and infant mortality rates.

St.Louis College of Nursing Sciences Zonkwa objectives were established to ensure quality Midwifery for Mother and Children.

  • Appreciate the spirit of Unity that is so central for the Charism of the Sisters of St. Louis

  • Asses the basic health needs of any area of the community they find themselves

  • Utilise the Nursing care process in providing comprehensive maternity care to individuals and groups at all levels of health care in the community

  • Identify risk factors in obstetrics and take appropriate action

  • Function Interdependently and in collaboration with other members of the health team and related sectors

  • Practise safe and clean delivery services

  • Utilize the knowledge and skill of information, education and communication in improving maternal and child health services

  • Collaborate with the various programmes of the Community Based Care and Support (CBCS) programme of the Diocese in its outreach to affect families in the Community,including cervical screening services.
